Pocket Casts Help and Tips

You can install the app from the Pocket Casts website or from the Google Play App Store.

If you have not installed Pocket Casts, you can do so at the following link: PocketCasts.com or in the App Store.

**Please note: we recommend you subscribe from your phone, or whichever will be the device you most use to listen to your MP3s.**

When you purchase your first MP3 from the MP3 store, you will receive two emails: one email with a link to download MP3s directly to your device and a second email with a link to activate your own private MP3s podcast feed.

1️⃣ Click the "Start Listening" button in the second email to subscribe to your own private podcast feed from your phone or device.👇

2️⃣ This will launch a window which will show you the podcast apps available for your device. 👇

3️⃣ Tap the Pocket Casts icon. Then tap the "Subscribe" button which will appear under the Pocket Casts icon.👇

4️⃣ This will launch Pocket Casts in a new window (you may be prompted to confirm you wish to open the app by tapping the "Open" button if on a Mac). Tap the blue and white "Subscribe" button to the right of the screen.👇

5️⃣ You will know you are subscribed because the "Subscribe" button will be replaced with a green check mark as shown in the image below.👇

You only need to subscribe once.

For future MP3 purchases, as long as you use the same email address at checkout as you did for past purchases, new MP3s will automatically appear in your private podcast feed.

And remember, no other customer and no member of the public can see your MP3s as the feed is private and only visible to you.

Now that you're subscribed, make a couple of simple changes to Settings to keep your MP3s visible and set up your podcast app to download your MP3s automatically. Read how to do this here.

By default, podcast apps will hide podcast episodes after they are listened to once.

Don't worry; they are hidden, not deleted.

Here's what to change to view them again and keep your MP3s visible forever.

1️⃣ Open Pocket Casts on your smartphone or tablet. 👇

2️⃣ Click on the Podcasts icon in the bottom bar and then tap your Unlock Your Life MP3s feed.👇

3️⃣ Click on the Gear icon shown below.👇

4️⃣ Change your settings to the following:

Enable "Custom For This Podcast" under "Auto-Archiving"

Choose "Never" under "Played Episodes".

Choose "Never" under "Inactive Episodes".

Choose "No Limit" on the number of episodes you want so that you can see all MP3s you purchase in your podcast feed.

Your screen should look the same as the one below.👇

5️⃣ Click the < icon to save settings and close this screen.

6️⃣ When out of this screen but still in Settings, you can also enable auto-downloading. In Settings ⚙️ ensure the toggle is on next to Auto-Download i.e. is green not grey, as in the image below.👇 This will automatically download all past, present and future MP3s you purchase.

6️⃣ Click the < icon to save settings and close this screen.

You only need to do this once to keep your MP3s visible forever and automatically download every MP3 you purchase.

Pocket Casts is the only podcast app that works across Windows, Mac, Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch). If you have more than one device, read this article to enable access to your MP3s in Pocket Casts on all your Apple devices.

1️⃣ Open Pocket Casts on your device.

2️⃣ Click the Podcasts icon in the bottom bar, and then click to open the Unlock Your Life MP3s feed.👇

3️⃣ Tap the Gear icon as shown below.👇

4️⃣ Change your Settings to "enable "Auto Download". This will automatically download all past, present and future MP3s you purchase.

Your settings should look the same as in the image below.👇

5️⃣ Click the < icon to save these settings and close this screen. You only have to change this once per each device to automatically download all past and future MP3 purchases to be able to listen to them offline.

Please note: You may also wish to verify if you have wi-fi only downloads or wi-fi AND mobile data downloads enabled. If you have wi-fi only downloads enabled, you will not receive downloads when only connected to mobile data. If you enable mobile data, you may be charged for data so please check your phone plan or device plan.

There are a few extra features in Pocket Casts, such as:

1️⃣ the ability to search for MP3s or podcast episodes by title, useful if you have purchased several Unlock Your Life MP3s

2️⃣ the ability to archive individual MP3s or podcast episodes

3️⃣ the ability to sort MP3s in more ways, such as alphabetical order. There are more features. You can read about them here.

Pocket Casts can be installed on all of the following: Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.

If you want to use just the mobile apps, the app is free. If you also want to install Pocket Casts on Mac or Windows, then this requires a paid plan.

Pocket Casts has features which Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts does not have, such as the ability to search by name of MP3 ("episode") and the ability to archive individual MP3s or episodes.

If you do not need desktop access, you do not need to sign up to the Premium plan unless you want other premium features. You can learn more about the premium features here: https://pocketcasts.com/plus/

1️⃣ If you need access on a desktop, laptop, Mac or in a browser window, you will need to sign up for the paid plan. On a desktop or laptop go to https://play.pocketcasts.com/user/login.

2️⃣ Choose your payment plan and tap to select it.

3️⃣ Tap to accept the terms and conditions.

4️⃣ Tap and then enter your payment information. You will now be able to download the apps for desktop/laptop and/or Mac. Remember to log in with your email address and password on all your devices to sync your Unlock Your Life MP3s across devices.

Pocket Casts is the only app which supports private podcasts across all platforms: Windows, Mac, Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch). It also has more functionality than both Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts and is the app that Sarah from Unlock Your Life uses. Now that you've activated your MP3 podcast feed, let's make sure you can access your MP3s across all your devices.

1️⃣ Open the Pocket Casts app on whichever devices you are subscribed to the Unlock Your Life MP3s Podcast.

2️⃣ Go to "Profile" in the Pocket Casts App in the bottom right corner of the screen. 👇

3️⃣ Click the bar "Set Up Account" in the Pocket Casts App and enter your email address and choose a password. 👇

4️⃣ Sign in on ALL devices with your email and password to sync your podcasts.

Desktop Instructions

If you do need to listen on a desktop/laptop or Mac, you will need to sign up for a paid plan. Here are the links to the Pocket Casts app for Mac and Windows:

1️⃣ On a desktop or laptop go to

https://play.pocketcasts.com/user/login or open the Pocket Casts app on your device. You will need to pay a monthly or annual subscription to access this feature.

2️⃣ Choose your payment plan (monthly or yearly) and fclick to accept the terms and conditions. Press the blue button "Enter Payment Details..." to enter your payment info. ☝️

3️⃣ Log in to Pocket Casts with your email and password on EVERY device you use. This will automatically sync your podcasts feed on all devices.

Please note: when listening in a web browser it is not possible to listen offline. It is possible when using the Pocket Casts app.

Pocket Casts is available for iOS, Mac, Windows and Android and can be downloaded from https://pocketcasts.com/.

No. Your Unlock Your Life MP3s feed is protected by the latest privacy technology and is only visible to you. Your feed is not visible to any other customer or any member of the public as this is a private feed. Also, each person has their unique feed, which only shows the MP3s they have purchased.

We recommend you always have a password or some security on your phone or device to protect the privacy of your feed in the same way that you would safeguard any app or content on your phone, computer or tablet.

Yes! While Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts do not have this functionality, Pocket Casts does (as does Overcast). Simply open up your Unlock Your Life MP3s feed and you will see a search bar and you will see a search bar where you can start to type in the title of an MP3 that you want to play.

A sleep timer is a way that you can set the exact length of time that you wish to listen to your last MP3 of the day. Maybe you only need 30 minutes to fall asleep but the MP3 you like lasts longer than that. Here's how to ensure you only play the exact number of minutes needed.

1️⃣ Open Pocket Casts on your phone or device.👇 Click on Podcasts icon in the bottom bar and click on the Unlock Your Life MP3s podcast icon.

2️⃣ From the list of all your MP3s, tap on the MP3 you want to listen to as you fall asleep. The bottom bar in your app will now have this MP3's title.👇

3️⃣ Tap the bottom bar on the Unlock Your Life icon where the MP3 is playing and it will expand into the view as shown below. 👇 4️⃣ Click the 💤 icon at the bottom left of the screen. 👇

5️⃣ Once you start playing the MP3, a sleep timer option will appear. You can then select the duration you would like to listen to the audio, either until the end or for a specific number of minutes. 👇

To cancel the sleep timer, tap the 💤 icon again and choose "Cancel Timer".

IMPORTANT: this will not block all notifications on your phone. You will need to set your phone to turn off all other alarms and notifications. Please consult with the help documentation for your phone or device.

1️⃣ Open Pocket Casts on your device.👇

2️⃣ Click on the Podcasts icon in the bottom bar on the left and click on the Unlock Your Life MP3s podcast icon. All your MP3s will be here.👇

3️⃣ For the MP3 you don't want to keep simply swipe to the left until you remove it from the view.👇

4️⃣ If you ever want to view what is archived you can click the text "Show Archived" to see all your MP3s.

If you are logged in with a user name and password to Pocket Casts, your podcasts and MP3s and podcast episodes will be restored when you sign in again on your new device.

If, for any reason, you do not see your Unlock Your Life podcast(s) again, please get in touch so we can send you a link to subscribe again and regain access to all your MP3s.

• Episode Name (A → Z)

• Release Date (Old → New )
